English Language & Literature is a global online English-learning platform dedicated to helping non-native speakers improve their communication skills through personalised online education. As part of the website redesign team, I was responsible for designing the hero illustration for the landing page. The objective was to create an engaging visual that communicates the learner's journey while reinforcing the platform's mission of helping students build confidence and fluency in English.

The challenge was to create a visually engaging hero illustration that could instantly communicate growth, learning, and achievement without relying heavily on text. The design needed to appeal to an international audience, represent the core English language skills taught by the platform, and seamlessly integrate with the website's user experience. It was important to balance educational messaging with an approachable and modern visual style that would encourage users to explore the platform further.

The final illustration became the focal point of the landing page, helping create a stronger first impression and a more engaging user experience. The concept of a learner climbing books labelled with key language skills visually communicates progress towards fluency, while the light bulb symbolises knowledge and opportunity. Through thoughtful visual storytelling, the illustration reinforces the platform's mission and contributes to a more memorable and effective website experience for prospective learners.
